Friday – 9:30 am to 6:30 pm entry
Saturday, Sunday – 9:30 am to 4:00 pm entry

Parking: Everyone parks at Santa Anita Race Track Lot 6 and takes a free shuttle. (Volunteers need to park 40 minutes prior to their shift to get the shuttle and check in 15 minutes prior to their shift. You sign in, get your assignment, and get to the location.)
Shifts are 4 hours. (You need to be able to stand the entire time.)
There are a number of community organizations who also volunteer to staff.
One liaison from each organization has access to make assignments. Volunteers tell the liaison when they want to work and she checks the active calendar and makes the assignment.
The liaison may start signing up volunteers on March 24. You may notify the liaison of your preferences anytime after March 1.
The liaison will update a calendar of needed shifts at least once a day. People do cancel, so you can check back if there is a specific time you want.
Showcase would like a list of possible volunteers to prepare name tags with barcodes linking you to the Music Club to ensure proper credit is given to those working. If you might possibly volunteer to work at Showcase, please let Coyla know (coylagrumm@gmail.com). This in no way obligates you to work if you don't want to.
A calendar of all shifts is posted below.
All volunteering will be coordinated with Coyla Grumm (coylagrumm@gmail.com).
When you offer to volunteer please provide the following information in your email to Coyla:
First name, last name, email address
Time and date you want to volunteer (please check the calendar here March 1 to see what times are available)
Other options of times you can volunteer (while the calendar is updated daily, other organizations are also filling up volunteering slots)
How many times you want to volunteer (in the event you listed multiple options above)
Is there someone you mutually agree to volunteer with who shares your choices?
Be sure to include their first name, last name, email address.
A phone number Coyla can call you to clarify any assignments if needed. (optional)
Please, make every effort to honor your assignments. Contact Coyla if change is necessary.
Volunteers direct traffic flow, watch for the safety of all guests, greet guests with a smile, answer basic questions, and refer guests to the designers as appropriate. Your primary role is to ensure the safety of the guests and the security of the property.
Remember the designers and/or their representatives are in the room and all comments need to be positive keeping personal opinions for other locations.
On Site are shops (on the tennis courts) and a restaurant (in the motor court area). No tickets or reservations are needed to visit these.
Shifts:
Shifts are 4 hours. Volunteers must stand during that time. A 15 minute break is scheduled. You wait until someone relieves you for your break. You remain at your location until relieved by the next volunteer or excused at the end of the day.
You may wear a hat if outside (not inside) and may want to bring sunscreen, sunglasses or a jacket. No liquids are allowed inside. Dress code: no denim or jeans, no mid-drift tops, no flip-flops. Dress slacks/pants, dresses, skirts, blouses, pant suits and collared shirts recommended. Wear flat shoes or shoes with wide heels. NO high heels allowed.
Upon arrival at Showcase, go to the end of the driveway, down the stairs on the right side of the guest house to the staff room in the basement. All purses and cell phones are left in a locked locker in the staff room.
Changing or canceling shifts is complicated and could cause a staffing problem for Showcase. Please only take shifts you want and will complete.
You may split a shift with someone you arrange. Each person checks in at the staffing office when they arrive. Be sure to tell the liaison you are splitting a shift when you sign up.
Guests:
If a guest has a fall or medical emergency do not call 911. Call the Showcase manager on duty via Walkie-Talkie.
If guests ask design questions, refer them to the designer, the program, or the poster in the room.
Loud talking on cell phones is not permitted.
No one is to sit on the furniture in design spaces.
No open liquids are permitted in the house.
Photos are permitted. #pasadenashowcasehouse
