2020 Orchestra Benefit Dinner
Dear Orchestra Families and Supporters,
The Arcadia High School Orchestras will celebrate our 26th Annual Benefit Dinner and Recital on Saturday, February 29, 2020. This fundraising event is held annually at the Arcadia Masonic Center. The AHS Orchestras have a history of excellence of over 60 years and continue to be a model for high schools throughout the state and country thanks to avid financial support from the community.
Our theme for this year’s wonderful event is “A Giant Leap For Stringkind!" The evening begins with browsing for deals at our silent auction while enjoying appetizers, then a delicious catered dinner, followed by entertainment featuring string ensembles from all four AHS Orchestras. As an annual tradition, we always invite an outstanding guest artist to perform as well. This year’s guest artist performance will feature the theremin, the only instrument played without touching the instrument itself! Best of all, the most unique experience is the grand finale that showcases all 250 orchestra performers completely surrounding the guests. It will prove to be an out-of-this-world evening for everyone.
The funds generated from this prestigious event provide many orchestra necessities (coaching, musical instruments, materials and supplies for the orchestra room) that may not otherwise be available to us. This is a great opportunity for you to be a Friend of the Orchestra. There are four ways in which you can provide support for this event: 1) purchase event ticket(s), 2) purchase advertising space in the program book, 3) be a benefactor, or 4) donate items for our silent auction. We are grateful to receive new and current items valued at $50 or more for our silent auction, such as musical instruments, electronics, tickets to sporting or music events, gift certificates, and services such as spa treatments or music lessons (just to name a few). All donations are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Here is a contribution form for you to complete. Please take a few moments and respond by sending this form back by February 19, 2020 (Program ad artwork and payment due by February 14th). 2019 Orchestra Benefit Dinner
The 25th Annual Orchestra Benefit Dinner was beautiful and truly reflected what it looks like when people come together to work towards a common goal: to make sure our AHS orchestra students get the best experience possible all year-round. Thanks to everyone who played a part in making the event a success, whether you bought tickets, donated money or silent auction items, or bought/sold program ads. It truly takes a village to make this program thrive.
Special thanks to the OBD Committee, which gave of their time and energy to make the event happen, particularly our three phenomenal event co-chairs: Frances Cheng, Sharleen Nakamoto, and Grace You. Without their leadership, and without the dedication of their team, this event would not have happened.
The students, directors, and parents are so grateful for all of the support given to the orchestra program through the OBD!
