You are now a member of the ARCADIA HIGH SCHOOL COLOR GUARD.
Below you will find some helpful information for planning your summer, as well as what to expect for the 2009/2010 school year.

Summer Rehearsals

June         23, 25, 30                 5:00pm – 9:00pm
July        2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30         5:00pm – 9:00pm
August        4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20            5:00pm – 9:00pm   
Music Camp – Idyllwild Pines Camp (August 22 – 28) *

*Optional, but STRONGLY encouraged to attend.

Fall Enrollment

All students MUST and will be signed up for the First Period/Band and Color Guard Class. All AHS Counselors have been notified that your student has made the team. However, it is your responsibility to make sure your student has been added to the class. During P-Days, please have your student confirm their enrollment in the class.

Fall Rehearsal Schedule

Tuesday and Wednesday    5:00pm – 9:00pm
September 12, 19        8:00am – 12pm (4 hour rehearsal with Marching Band)

Financial Commitment

Below is a list of fees for Colorguard membership. IF A MEMBER IS DISMISSED FROM THE TEAM OR QUITS. THE FAMILY REMIANS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FINANCIAL COMMITMENT OF ALL NON-RETURNABLE AND NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSITS.

If financial commitment is a concern, a contract may be negotiated through the music department. The AHS Music Club offer several fund-raisers needed to meet the general needs of the program. Each student as well as their parents is strongly encouraged to participate.

Other individual expenses, which may include: gloves, hair supplies, make-up, special undergarments, secret sibling gifts, banquet, money needed on trips and equipment supplies not purchased through AHS.

Attendance Policy

We take attendance at all practices, classes, and performances. Poor attendance will affect your placement within the program. If a member misses a rehearsal the week of a performance, the Colorguard Director has the discretion to remove the member for the upcoming performance. It is very important that all members’ be present, at every rehearsal.  All absences must be accompanied by an email to: Geoarmenta@aol.com (failure to email the director will count as a missed and unexcused absence).

Below are items all Color Guard members should own/purchase. These are just suggestions, various items may work in their place.
